Since there is fish oil in both Allysian Omega™ and Allysian Smartkids™, would it be too much fish oil for my child to take both products at the same time? If not, how many can they take?
If omega-3 sources, such as fish, vegetable oils, nuts, are not a part of the child’s regular diet, they may take 1-2 capsules of Allysian Omega™ in addition to Allysian SmartKids™, depending on their age (2 capsules okay for those over 6 years).
General recommendations for EPA + DHA intakes are the following (from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations):
- 2-4 years: 100-150 mg
- 4-6 years: 150-200 mg
- 6-10 years: 200-250 mg
Each serving of Allysian SmartKids™ (2 gummies) contains 9.5 mg EPA + DHA. Each capsule of Allysian Omega™ contains 113.5 mg EPA + DHA. The combined total of 2 Allysian SmartKids™ gummies and 1 Allysian Omega™ capsule is 123 mg EPA + DHA.
