Should I stop drinking coffee or other sources of caffeine while taking Mastermind?
It is not necessary to avoid drinking coffee or other sources of caffeine if someone is taking Mastermind. The total caffeine content in a daily dose of Mastermind (6 capsules) is around 60 mg of caffeine, roughly equivalent to a cup of black tea. Health Canada recommends a daily limit of around 400 mg caffeine per day for a healthy individual.
In general, it is best to take supplements with water as caffeine acts as a diuretic, which may cause ingredients in the supplement to be excreted before they are absorbed. Some consumers decide to take Mastermind together with coffee to boost immediate benefits (examples: focus, alertness) and some have decided that coffee is no longer needed, as they feel more awake and focused with Mastermind. To retain the benefits of Mastermind for the longest duration, it is best to separate intake of caffeine and Mastermind. In regards to duration, caffeine can last for varying degrees of time in the body, taking 4-6 hours to be excreted. We recommend separating intake of Mastermind and caffeinated beverages by at least 2-4 hours.
