How can I be confident that Allysian's natural health products are safe, high quality, and efficacious?
In order to be sold legally in Canada, Natural Health Products (NHPs) must have a product license, and any sites involved with manufacturing, packaging, or labeling NHPs must have a site license. This means that every step from production to sales follows regulatory protocols.
- Sites must follow good manufacturing practices, including proper procedures for handling, storage, and delivery of products for safety, sanitation, and quality assurance.
- Proper evidence, such as human clinical trials or published journals, must be provided to verify that products are safe and effective.
- Health Canada must review the full list of ingredients, source of ingredients, dose, and potency of NHPs and ensure that health claims are accurate.
- Specific labeling and packaging requirements must be met, ensuring consumers are provided with a product name, license number, complete list of ingredients, recommended use, as well as any cautionary statements, contraindications, or possible adverse reactions.
Once products are reviewed by Health Canada and are verified to meet all required standards, they are given an 8-digit Natural Product Number (NPN). The NPN allows consumers to easily identify products that have been authorized for sale by Health Canada, indicating that they were reviewed and deemed safe and effective when used according to the instructions on the label. You can find the NPN on Allysian’s natural health product labels.
